A mindful act itself is already a reward

Doing something mindfully, you open to the moment through the work you are doing. You get access to invisible energy, cosmic energy. It naturally transforms your personal energy and state of mind. Your consciousness is lit up. That’s your intrinsic reward.

 

But don’t try to hold on to any mental state. A mental state is just an effect of how you work. If you try to keep it, you can’t go anywhere. If you hold on to it, you can’t supply oxygen to it. You don’t live the moment fully. You thus lose it. The mind can only see an effect. So, it clings to a result, which is not the real energy.

 

When you “see” the invisible energy of the moment, you enjoy the moment itself. Whatever you do is just an excuse to open to the moment. Through your doing, this invisible energy flows through you and transforms itself into a visible form.

 

So being mindful, total in doing is already a great reward. It transforms you and brings great quality to the final result.
